Lumina’s 2024 GCC-UK Cross Border M&A Survey

Lumina is delighted to release its 2024 GCC-UK Cross Border M&A survey. Key findings are:

  • Positive M&A sentiment, with 70% of respondents expecting to do the same or more deals in the next 12 months

  • Deal activity remained strong in the last year with 45% of respondents undertaking a transaction within the last 12 months (last year: 41%)

  • UAE and KSA are still the most active geographies, with a noted rise in interest in Egyptian deals and ventures

  • Equity is, still, the overwhelming funding method of choice (77%), with positive growth in the use of debt (48%) and mezzanine (29%) structures

  • Industrials, infrastructure and consumer remain strong, but buoyed by an increase in business services sector deals

  • The mid-market still dominates with sub $100m deals most common, at valuations of up to 10.0x EBITDA
